Child Protection Mediation is an important focus area, and Ontario has introduced legislation on how mediators may be employed in Child Protection Mediation cases. Please see the OCPM Roster website for more details.

The Next Child Protection Mediation training has been set for February 26, 27, 28, 2010 in Waterloo, Ontario. If you are interested in taking this training, please go to the CPMed site and see the Training News area or follow the link to the Screening Application Form which is a mandatory step in applying for the training. You can find that link in the Forms area of the CPMed site

OAFM's office administrator is available to answer questions and direct members of the public and OAFM members to appropriate persons, organizations or website locations regarding family mediation and OAFM. E-mail inquiries are also welcome at oafm@oafm.on.ca.

For referrals to a mediator in your area or for all OAFM member services, please contact us toll free at 1-800-989-3025.

You may also contact your area Board of Directors if you have questions about OAFM, or family mediation.

Are you looking for an Accredited Mediator???

OAFM cannot certify that any of the members on the list are necessarily competent to mediate your particular case. (See below) If you need help in selecting a family mediator, see our guidelines in making your decision.

While OAFM has no licensing powers, it does offer an accreditation process which permits those with the appropriate training and experience to obtain the designation Acc.FM (OAFM). You are urged to consider contracting with accredited mediators with expertise matching your specific requirements.

OAFM has no power to discipline its members, other than revoking membership and encouraging compliance with standards of practice accepted within the mediation community.
