What you will learn about:
Day
One: Relevant legislation (Arbitration Act,
regulations, amendments to Family Law Act); Arbitration, Med-Arb and Parenting
Coordination (PC Agreements); essential
arbitration procedure.
Day
Two:
Relevant case law, case studies, role-plays, evidentiary basics, and difficult
issues.
What materials you will receive: Sample PC, Arbitration and Med-Arb
Agreements, seminal articles, examples of arbitration awards, reading list,
procedural checklists and summary tables.
Suitable for: Mediators,
child custody assessors, and professionals with a minimum of basic level
mediation.

Hilary Linton, Mediator/Arbitrator/Lawyer.
Ms. Linton
has helped people resolve family law disputes for 20 years. She mediates all
aspects of separation and divorce, and acts as an arbitrator when negotiations
break down. She has many years of experience teaching the theory and practice
of mediation, negotiation,
arbitration and restorative justice.
Barry Fisher, Mediator/Arbitrator/Lawyer. Mr. Fisher has been practicing mediation and
arbitration since 1987, specializing in labour and employment cases. He speaks,
writes and teaches often. He has been the chair of the Ontario Bar
Association?s ADR section and on the executive of the Ontario Labour Management
Arbitrators Association.
Barbara Jo Fidler, Ph.D., C.Psych., Acc.FM. Dr. Fidler has worked with
high conflict families for over 24 years, providing assessments, mediation,
arbitration, and parenting coordination for which she also provides supervision
and training. Her clinical services include individual (children and adults),
couple/marital and family therapy. She is a member of the AFCC task force that
developed guidelines for Parenting Coordination.
