INTRODUCTION OF THE PRESENTERS

KENNETH COLE:

Kenneth Cole is a partner at Epstein Cole with a focus on family law. He has appeared at all courts of Ontario, including the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada, and has served as a dispute resolution officer for the Superior Court of Justice.

Kenneth’s extensive teaching background includes teaching the family law Bar Admissions Course, and teaching advanced family law course at both the University of Toronto Law School and Osgoode Hall Law School. Kenneth has also authored numerous family law articles including the topic of mediation in family law.

LORNE GLASS

Lorne Glass is the managing partner of the law firm Glass, Murray, Bianchi. He was called to the Bar in 1978 and has worked in family law since then. In addition to family law, much of Lorne’s practice is related to child protection law. He is counsel to the Jewish Family and Child Services and the Native Child and Family Services of Toronto. Lorne also acts on behalf of parents and for children and has been on the panel through the Office of Children’s Lawyer since 1979.

Lorne has taught the Family Law Section of the Bar Admission Course at Osgoode Hall, and has also taught at the University of Toronto, Seneca College and with the Toronto and District School Boards.

MAGGIE HALL

Maggie Hall has been a family mediator since completing her MSW in the mid 1980’s. She is The Director of The Mediation Centre of Hamilton. Maggie was part of the comprehensive mediation pilot project in Ontario and has been involved in numerous community based committees including The Hamilton Police Services Advisory Committee on Domestic Violence and the Sexual Abuse Network.

Maggie has taught Family Mediation and Complex Issues in Mediation Courses at McMaster University. She co-authored the Mandatory Child Protection Training Curriculum and taught the inaugural program at The University of Toronto. Currently, Maggie is working on her LLM (ADR) at Osgoode Hall Law School.
